This intersection of swe + design is called Design Engineering, and I aspire to be good great at it. There used to be a time when I was always having this internal tug of war between design and engineering, but I've come to realize that I can have the best of both worlds.
People like Garry Tan, Steve Jobs, Ivan Zhao, and Brian Chesky are just a few of the many people that I look up to who have taught me that great design is what makes the world go round. The era of designers as Founders, Trailblazers, and and Changemakers is coming.

As a hopeless romantic, I want to live in a world that is so empathic to design, where the norm of the equity split between the hipster, hacker, and hustler doesn't disregard the designer; where design is as respected as other fields in tech; where design is not just a second thought, but a first thought.
Though I can't change the industry overnight, I can start by refining myself as a designer and engineer but also notably as a friend, lover and a brother. The following are my attempts to do so.

My friends and I were one of the only 80 people that got invited by a VC firm, Contrary, for their ML hackathon. We basically built a GPT wrapper that could generate newsletters from a connected task management software. Good for project managers who want to send out weekly updates/insights to their team/customers/product owners.

I discovered an awesome startup with an impressive value proposition, especially relevant to me as a former co-founder. In my initial venture, I overlooked conducting extensive user interviews, and I believe their software could have steered me differently.
Inspired, I redesigned their website (https://www.buildbetter.app/), adding my personal touch (https://buildbetter-portfolio.vercel.app/). Surprisingly, I got to discuss with their CEO, who shared insights about the early days of his startup. It was a great experience!

Based in NYC, [Stealth] is a startup that allows tourists/locals be able to find public restrooms in lively cities. Using a pay-to-pee model from Europe, we partnered with local businesses. We collaborated for a consultation on their software and design.

Developed and tested a react-native mobile based app with Expo with 80+ users on the platform to help connect young people with one another through tailored events. We pitched at the University of Maryland and won $30,000 in funding.

Red Pandas is a platform that makes data accessible to all. Users can import data, manipulate/visualize it, and share their results all from an easy-to-use web-based platform. We also integrated a GPT-based code generator in our text editor so that even those with no programming experience can use the platform as well.

A filesystem emulator that can be used to create, delete, and modify files and directories. It also supports file permissions and file locking. This is made with parent and child processes to delegate tasks. Also handles the good ol sociopathic memory allocation.

By providing a friendly UI interface this software generates the complete package for a Comp Sci student such as the SRC & DOC directory, write-ups, screenshots, and UML diagrams all bundled up together. Intended to be deployed with the java bundler for OS Windows.
